Talent talk

Talent Talk is a series of panel talks in collaboration with Röhsska Museum
Design & Craft.

The purpose of these talks is for us to come together as a community and gather experts to share insights and perspectives on a particular topic within textiles and fashion. By starting a transparent conversation and spotlighting the potential as well as the challenges we face in our industry today, we believe we can raise awareness, inspire and find collaboration to accelerate circular solutions.

ActiviTIES

issue #2 – Belonging, who gets a place in the public space?

It’s time for the second edition of the Textile Movement Talent talk. We have the pleasure of presenting Charlotte Manning, an author and poet who will host a storytelling session that interprets the topic followed by a panel discussion.

Charlotte Manning is a creator with social commitment who builds and broadens spaces with storytelling and poetry as an art form. In her practice, Charlotte conveys compassionate communication, deeper community understanding and illuminates social issues and structures.

The event is followed by an inspiring paneltalk where we make space for voices from the fashion industry, who in different ways contribute to increased inclusion and broader perspectives. Speakers will be announced short.

Our speakers shared everyday challenges, long-term potential and individual needs.
Perspectives that were shared evolved around consumer behavior, what scaling looks like for a circular business, why local production is important, the cultural aspect when it comes to valuing our clothes and why repairing needs to become the norm.

Big thank you to our brilliant speakers, Bella Simmons, Waxiu Shehu and Linnéa Magnusdotter, for being so generous with both knowledge and personal stories!
