Are you an emerging designer or artist within fashion, textiles or craftmaking? Then this call is for you!

With strong connections to industry and active professionals within textiles, fashion design, and craft, the programme nurtures emerging talents and equip them with skills needed to lead a new wave of sustainable arts and design businesses. Participants gain access to an engaged network of partners, mentors, and industry professionals who share knowledge, open doors, and support long-term career development.

The Textile Movement Talent project aims to bridge the gap between education and industry by combining business development with access to machinery and infrastructure. It is run in close collaboration with the Western Sweden design schools,  the Swedish School of Textiles at the University of Borås and HDK-Valand Academy of Art and Design at the University of Gothenburg, to support alumni in their professional journeys.

The programme is funded by Region Västra Götaland and carried out by Lindholmen Science Park in collaboration with Textile Movement, the University of Borås, and the University of Gothenburg, with support from industry professionals and organisations in the field. The Textile Movement Project is co-funded by Region Västra Götaland and co-funded by the European Union.

What we offer

The Talent Programme offers three key areas for professional development, tailored in partnership with leading industry professionals and organisations.
The Entrepreneurship, Sustainability, and Lab support tracks cover business development, brand building, mentorship, legal aspects, textile sorting, sustainable materials, re-design, circular business models, local production, and more.

Participants gain unique access to selected labs and makerspaces for developing and prototyping design ideas and products at the Swedish School of Textiles, HDK-Valand Academy of Art and Design, and Steneby.

The programme features physical workshops, digital meetings, and group sessions, alongside time for independent work with requirements for presentation and goal achievement. Workshops and lectures will be held in English and Swedish.
